Teach from the front of the classroom, then work with pupils around a table: the Roger Touchscreen Mic 3 supports both. Wear it on the lanyard while explaining, or place it on the table for a small group discussion. Roger sends the sound to compatible hearing aids or receivers.
From teaching to group discussion
In automatic mode, the microphone detects how it is being used and adjusts its microphone mode. On the lanyard it picks up your voice close by; on a table it supports small group conversations. Keep the top about 20 cm from your mouth when wearing it. The mute button pauses transmission, for example during a private conversation.
Suitable hearing aids
- Phonak Audéo Marvel, Paradise, Lumity and Infinio with RogerDirect. Have the Roger receiving function installed or checked first; ordinary Bluetooth pairing is not sufficient.
- Unitron Moxi V-R and Moxi V-RT with RogerDirect, after installing the Roger receiving function.
- Other hearing aids and CI processors: through a compatible Roger receiver. An enabled telecoil allows use with a Roger NeckLoop. Without a telecoil, an exact receiver and connection match is needed.
Set up reception first
The third generation includes unlimited installable Roger receivers for hearing aids with RogerDirect. Once installed, no separate receiver is needed with those aids. Other hearing aids do not gain RogerDirect automatically; they still need the correct external receiver. Hearing aids without Roger reception or a suitable external receiver cannot receive this microphone.
Controls and connections
- Touchscreen for connecting, checking and settings.
- Rechargeable battery; charge through micro-USB with the supplied power adapter.
- 3.5 mm audio connection; recording cable for a compatible computer or tablet included.
- Roger radio range up to approximately 25 metres in favourable conditions. Walls and other equipment can reduce it.
More speakers in the classroom
Compatible Roger education devices, such as a Roger Pass-around or DigiMaster, can share the network. These are sold separately. Have the network roles configured appropriately: several devices in one room do not automatically transmit simultaneously.
