This is the black Cochlear magnet in strength 5(I), part number P1623215. You receive one magnet without a coil or cable. It holds the matching coil in place over your implant.
A 5(I) magnet is not the same as a standard 5M magnet. The (I) type is for Profile Plus implants. This strength also needs a matching 5(I) coil; the processor name alone is not enough. Nucleus 8 Aqua+ also has a separate 5(I) coil for this strength.
Compare the part number and marking with your current part. Do not choose a stronger magnet yourself to solve a loose coil. Ask your CI team to confirm the correct combination and strength. Stop wearing it and contact your clinician if you notice pain, redness or pressure on the skin.
