Choose the filter system already fitted
This pack contains six Bernafon ProWax filters with replacement tools, part number 123459. They help keep wax and dirt away from the receiver. Before ordering, check that your hearing aid or custom earpiece uses the standard ProWax system.
ProWax is not ProWax miniFit
Different filters may be needed within the same hearing aid range. For example, the Bernafon Encanta manual specifies ProWax for certain custom earpieces, but ProWax miniFit for the speaker. The component actually fitted determines which filter to order. ProWax miniFit is smaller and is not interchangeable with this item.
Compatible Oticon hearing aids or earpieces may also use regular ProWax. The brand name alone does not establish compatibility. For an Audika earpiece or one from another supplier, use the original filter type too; not every earpiece from one supplier uses the same system.
When and how to replace it
Replace the filter when clogged or if the hearing aid does not sound normal. Use the empty end of the tool to pull the old filter straight out. Turn the tool around, insert the new filter and withdraw the tool. Check the filter stays securely in place and discard the tool with the old filter.
Do not rinse or reuse the filter. If there is also a speaker filter beneath a custom earpiece, leave that replacement to your hearing care professional as directed in the hearing aid manual.
