If you often ask for the television to be turned up, a personal TV listening system can be useful. The Sennheiser Set 860 sends sound to the ear pads of a lightweight stethoset receiver. Set your own volume without a headband resting over your hair or glasses.
Bring conversations forward
Choose from three hearing profiles and adjust the balance between your left and right ears. The speech function helps bring voices forward in the TV soundtrack. The receiver switches on automatically when you spread the ear bows and off when you take it off.
Which connections can I use?
- TV or stereo with an optical digital output, set to PCM/stereo.
- TV or audio device with an analogue 3.5mm audio output.
The system works through the included transmitter, not the TV’s Bluetooth function. There is no HDMI input. Whether others can listen through the television speakers at the same time depends on your TV.
For a long evening of TV
The built-in battery provides up to 18 hours of use. After listening, place the receiver on the transmitter to charge; a full charge takes up to approximately 3 hours. Range is up to 70 metres with a clear line of sight, and walls may reduce it indoors.
What is included?
You receive an RR 800 stethoset with battery, TR 860 transmitter with charging dock, power supply with EU, UK, US and AU adapters, silicone ear pads in S and L, memory foam and open foam ear pads, 1.5-metre optical and 3.5mm audio cables, an RCA adapter and documentation.
Good to know
The ear pads sit in your ears. If you want to keep using your own wired headphones, a system with a separate clip receiver is another option. Start with a low volume and choose a comfortable fit.
